Description
As part of its commitment to supporting the development of the computing curriculum at school, the OU Department of Computing is co-sponsoring the Code Club Pi Hack event on 8 Dec in London. The event aims to bring together a 100 software developers to build example projects that could be used to teach primary school children programming skills through Code Club, a network of after school clubs that are being run across the UK.

In addition to sponsoring the event, OU academics will be participating the hack event, developing projects and demonstrating the Sense platform developed as part of the My Digital Life (TU100) module. The Sense platform combines Sense, a visual programming language based on Scratch, with the Sense Board, an interface board that can sense the physical environment and produce different physical outputs. Using it, novice programmers are able to develop software capable of interacting with the physical world and gain hand-on experience of building their own ubiquitous computing devices.

Link to Code Club Hack Event:http://codeclub-pi-hack.eventbrite.com/
