Comment Members of the team behind the ERA Project were pleasantly surprised (to say the least) to have won the Special Needs Innovation category at the 2008 Handheld Learning awards at The Brewery, Barbican Centre, London last night. Photo shows, from left to right, famous TV mathematician and childrens' entertainer Johnny Ball, Jessica & Mark from ERA, CEO of RedHalo (sponsors of this particular award). The Enabling Remote Access (ERA) project was set up to enable physically impaired students access to remote locations during geology summer schools as part of their undergraduate Geosciences degree. By using mobile and communications technologies, ERA provides practical solutions to the challenges of fieldwork accessibility. Related Links: Handheld Learning Awards The ERA Project RedHalo
