My partners provided me with useful contacts as regards to research in Southern Italy, namely Sardinia and Italy. This opened new avenues to my research in the Old Mediterranean World
There has been important research exchange amongst all parties. My contribution was on specific aspects of high-temperature technologies and luxury material industries, such as glass and allied vitreous materials. I joined their reading and discussion groups at Leicester on the theory of practice of early industries and the networks of craft interactions.
