<p>Allan Jones's research centres on the history and social context of science and technology. He has published several papers relating to the BBC's early coverage of science and technology, in particular looking at recurring patterns of institutional conflict associated with science broadcasting. He has also published on educational technology, telecommunications regulation and musicology.</p><div>Details of academic publications are listed under the'Publications' tab above. His academic interests are mainly in electronics, telecommunications, communications theory, musicology, and the history of science and technology. </p><p><br />Allan is a graduate of the Open University and Liverpool University, and holds a PhD from University College London. Outside academic life, his interests are walking, cycling, music, history, philosophy, and French.
